Case Study – Yo-X

Yo-X was an ‘As Seen On TV’ commercial for a dynamic, exciting new Yo-Yo product.

The commercial was shot on-location in a shopping mall with Yo-Yo experts showing off the ‘sick’ tricks that Yo-X can do.

Spokesperson Pete Postiglione was the anchor to this fast-paced, colorful commercial.

Case Study – MacBond Fuze

MacBond Fuze was another ‘As Seen On TV’ product from the manufacturers of Uglu. It once again featured spokesperson David Jones as well as Debi Marie and was shot both on-location and in the studio.

How do you create a wow demo introducing a great new product? You show how it works mounting products upside down in a room! This incredible set and camera sequence offered a great pay-off scene to the DRTV commercial.

SPP Produces for Thomasville Furniture

Shot on location in Charlotte, NC;  SPP produced a furniture footage library for Thomasville Furniture. The three day shoot was shoot in several homes across the area and featured lifestyle scenes of people enjoying their Thomasville Furniture.

This was the eighth project of this size we have produced for Thomasville. It requires a highly-tuned and organized production team to scout locations, manage talent and wardrobe, organize the styling of each room setting all while on location in private homes.

The footage is used by Thomasville and their dealers to create commercials that air throughout the country.

Produced in high-definition with high production values, music and original animations, the Talkin’ Money series is designed for multiple video formats. Licensed as videos for corporate websites; in-school educational videos; and DVD’s for the general public.

A representative sample of just some show topics include:

  • What do I need to know about getting a job?
  • How do I learn about the pros and cons of college loans?
  • What is a budget and how do I use it?
  • How much does it cost to own a car?
  • What are my responsibilities with regards to taxes and the IRS?
  • How do I get a credit card, and how does credit work?
  • How do I learn to spend and save smartly?
  • How do checking accounts work?
  • What are the risks and rewards of starting my own business?
  • How expensive is it to live on my own?
  • How do the different types of insurance work, and how do I know what I need?
  • How do I protect myself from consumer fraud?
  • How do IRA’s and 401k’s work?

When polled, the vast majority of adults will tell you that they were never taught the things they needed to know about money when they were in school, and, they wished that they had the knowledge to be financially literate at a young age. Talkin’ Money correlates it’s show topics to the National Standards in K-12 Personal Finance Education as created and maintained by the Jump$tart Coalition® for Personal Financial Literacy, a 501-c-3 non-profit organization based in Washington, DC.

The Talkin’ Money video series is an invaluable tool for teaching high school students what they need to know to be financially literate. This project has been a labor of love by Steve Procko, who saw the need for this type of educational video series by chatting with his own teenage daughter. During those evening dinner discussions on life topics, Steve found that basic knowledge about money was sorely lacking in high school. Daughter Melissa later went on to appear in several episodes and work as a production coordinator on Talkin’ Money for her father.
